Su criterio es que los niños no existen para satisfacer las normas educativas, sino que éstas deben modificarse conforme a las necesidades infantiles, sobre todo en la medida en que se amplían los conocimientos neurológicos.Cuestiones fundamentales como los factores que explican la asimetría de los hemisferios, la incidencia de influencias socioeconómicas y culturales, la diferencia de sexo y su papel en la capacitación para actividades musicales, se tratan detalladamente y se articulan en un enfoque integrador que concibe al individuo musical como «ser humano total».
